BEING FOCUSED AND OVERCOMING

Focus can be described as the concentration of attention. Once a goal is set, it’s only by being focused that we can overcome any obstacles that we may encounter along the way. Every challenge an individual experience in life can be overcome; be it emotional, psychological, financial, physical, and even spiritual. We can learn to move pass it or acquire the patience and perseverance to tolerate it. God blesses nothing more emphatically than the hard work we put in toward reaching our goals. And the truth is we'll need to witness failure several times at some big goals before we'll finally succeed. This very lesson teaches us the importance of failure and the need to do our very best in all honesty. Taking responsibility is also a way of giving yourself an opportunity to reflect on your mistakes and generate more ideas on how to go about your activities in order not make such mistakes again.

Most changes we wish to initiate and attain take much more effort and work than we expect. Until we achieve our goal, we must always keep trying. Then God shows us the fact; we are overcomers. Every step until that destined point is a path filled with shrift, struggles and hardships. As a matter of fact, any desired outcome worth fighting for should be fought with our entire being. Only by faith will we get to the top of the mountain then run down the other side (what I call taking it easy). We overcome by overcoming ourselves, by surrendering our perceived power that makes us feel important to a power that overcomes through our weakness. When we get out of our own way we begin to see that all along, we have been the ones holding ourselves back, and then we understand the power of change. Change comes from within and therefore we all are agents of change.

God blesses us through the diligence we display for taking the ultimate responsibility for our lives. If we don't, who will? We must be the ones who take hold of the opportunities when it presents itself. It's all that matters in the long run. What we do and who we are. Above all heaven helps those who help themselves.
