Tie is defined is a strong connection between people or groups of people i.e. a bond. Ties can either be a good or a bad thing due to the fact that it is what links us together. It can be extracted from an ancestral linage which is usually termed as natural ties (i.e. family) or an artificial one which is created through forming bonds and connections established in the course of our lifetime. Ties can also be linked to a religious background such as the Roman Catholic Church which has existed over a very long period of time dating back to the Roman Empire.
What an individual has done during the course of his lifetime especially if it affected the livelihood of a lot of people or a society can deeply impact the lives of those who are linked to them. If it a positive accomplishment, then there will be high expectations from their descendants (i.e. they will be expected to fill in the shoes of their ancestors/fathers), a typical example is the case of Nelson Mandela. The other side is for those who have ties to someone or a group of individuals who has done something wrong (very bad). A typical example of this is Osman Bin Laden or Adolf Hitler.
It is said that a good name is better than wealth and riches because it will be remembered throughout the ages and time itself. So let's try our very best to leave a mark on the sands of time and in the same vein a good name for it is my believe that this will go a long way in encouraging, supporting and motivating those who come after us to strive to achieve more than us.
