And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth (Genesis 1:26).
I am the one, I truly am the one. I was created in the true image and likeness of the Almighty God to achieve great things. This simple statement should be resounded continuously in our minds in order to enable us acknowledge the fact that our duties, roles and choices are ours and ours alone. We need no permission or encouragement to do what needs to be done. If we seek to depend on the input of others in everything we do, we are deemed a failure due to this singular reason; the loss of our individuality. Our individuality is what makes us unique in relation to the rest of the herd.
If you accept that you are the one, then am sure you must know by now what you must do. What make us the one is what drives us, what makes us stand our ground even after we have fallen and what makes us accept full responsibility for our every action and decision.
Are you the one to make that decision? Are you the one to get that job? Are you to achieve that great feat? It depends on us individually accepting that we are the one. The desire to be the one is what should drive us to work smart, to be better than the rest, to be confident and expect no favour from anyone whatsoever.
